Glass is the first of China's five famous weapons (gold and silver, jade, glass, ceramics, bronze), one of the seven treasures of Buddhism. Also known as "glaze", it refers to the crystal works made of artificial crystal (containing 24% lead dioxide) of various colors as raw materials and made of ancient bronze dewaxing and casting at high temperature.

我国最早出现的琉璃制品要算是作装饰用的珠类了。从地下发掘的情况来看, 西周时期用于殉葬的琉璃品也主要是各种圆珠、管状珠和作镶嵌用的琉璃片。这些琉璃珠在墓葬中或单个出现, 或同玛瑙、松石等珠子混串在一起, 它们是当时的贵族戴在头部、颈部的饰物。这些情况表明, 当时琉璃珠生产的数量还不是很多, 人们把它和玉石类的珠一视同仁。

The earliest glass products in China are beads for decoration. From the perspective of underground excavation, the glass products used for martyrdom in the Western Zhou Dynasty were mainly round beads, tubular beads and glass pieces for inlay. These glass beads appear in tombs alone, or are mixed with agate, pine stone and other beads. They are ornaments worn on the head and neck by nobles at that time. These situations show that the number of glass beads produced at that time was not very large, and people regarded it as the same as jade beads.

象耳是传统瓷制品中双耳瓶式之一，以长颈并颈部附象首双耳而得名，盛行于元明清三代。大象厚重稳行，在古代常用“太平有象”“喜象升平”来表现河清海晏、民康物阜。而风水学认为象鼻吸水（在风水学中水主财），有吸财、招财的寓意，所以象耳尊成为大户人家喜爱的陈设收藏品。
